Appartement Am Dürrbach 5/512 à Engelberg, Suisse Centrale - 2 personnes, 1 Couchage

« Fantastic Appartment Engelberg (Am Dürrbach 512) »

Stayed for a week in this appartment with my wife and daughter. Excellent location - mountain view direct from the balcony, centrally located in Switzerland. Swimming pool was nice, suuroundings fantastic. Absolutely perfect for max 2 persons or 2 persons + 1 small child (\u003c5 years). Kitchen is great (only the hot plates - you need to be cautious with cooking), WiFi was present but frequent drops in signal (tip: use WPA security instead of WPA2 or WEP - in advanced WiFi settings), however, wifi would not work with mobile or tablet. Furniture is comfortable, balcony is big with big table, chairs, relax chairs. Appartment is on ground floor directly looking into the mountains. Engelberg town is central to most tourist attractions and cities and is a sort of hillstation - excellent to enjoy the most of Switzerland. Have been in Engelberg twice and will again stay here if i visit Switzerland. City center and ATM, Petrol station all at walking distance (\u003c 1 km) from the appartment. Parking is free and big (open air) for residents of the appartment complex. Most importantly - the owners are very friendly and helpful and a big thanks to them and for my next visit, I will book 2 adjoining appartments from the same owners one for my family and the other for my parents or parents in-law - since I very much appreciate the friendliness, ambience and helpfullness of the owners and recommend this appartment gladly!!!
Side Tips: The electrical sockets in the appartment are good for most electronic devices (tablets, phones, shavers, hair dryers etc.) from Europe/India (not UK not USA not Dubai not Malaysia/Asia), however for Laptop chargers from Europe/India, the contact pin holes are thin and hence the adaptor pins, which are thick do not fit, so to charge laptops you need a small converter plug. Travelling short distances in Switzerland can be time consuming due to the mountain roads (they are excellent by the way), hence plan the trip in advance and carefully. I had rented a car and reaching mountain tops from the bottom using mountain railways took 1-2 hrs. With small children, it is better to drive short distances and reduce travelling time to relax and enjoy more. I ended up driving 900+ kms in 5 days and that was too hectic for myself and my daughter of 2.5 years, a lesson learnt for myself.
